JCR attended the commemorative meeting celebrating 40 years of ICC and 38 years of the Lavoro Europe brand in Guimarães — a remarkable journey that reinforces both companies' shared vision on the value of occupational protection combined with science, engineering, and continuous innovation.
During the visit and working sessions, the JCR team had the opportunity to closely monitor the manufacturing backstage, direct sole injection processes, and the latest safety footwear lines that will soon reach our customers.

1. Regulatory Update: What changes in the new footwear standard
Detailed analysis of the requirements introduced by the revision of the European safety footwear standard (EN ISO 20345), clarifying new markings and technical tests (such as slip resistance and new non-metallic penetration resistance levels) and their practical impacts on selecting the ideal footwear for each industrial sector.
2. SPODOS Technology: The foot biomechanical study center
We had the opportunity to explore the operation of SPODOS — the innovative center and mobile laboratory developed by Lavoro that combines biomechanics, biomedical engineering, and podiatry. This project makes it possible to evaluate plantar pressure distribution in real working environments, preventing musculoskeletal injuries and identifying the perfect ergonomic response for every foot anatomy.
3. Industry 4.0 and Artificial Intelligence
We witnessed strong investments in cutting-edge technology, robotics, and the application of Artificial Intelligence to manufacturing and injection processes, enhancing dimensional precision, thermal control, and the durability standard of each pair produced.
